      Hmm. Still no answer.

I understand that. But my question is - do we want people who get a rise out of inflicting misery (the aim of a brawl)
The aim of a brawl is to win. Inflicting misery is incidental.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Its ok to shoot people who are bearing arms against you(see laws of war). Its ok to FEEL GOOD about it cause they slap their women. Its NOT ok to shoot people just cause they slap their women, whether it feels good or not, and the General did not say that it was.

Unless you are shooting at the guy because he is doing the battery at that moment and you want him to stop, I don't think that is ok to shoot at someone because they have slapped their women (you don't even know if that individual soldier has done so either).

Just a lot of PC bull****. Guess what, some soldiers enjoy the rush of combat. I guess we should all get in our ergomobile and throw flowers at our enemies while reading ****ing sensitivity pamphlets.

                rules of war.

rules of war are just something designed to keep the rich countries in power and oppress poor countries who do not have the capability of supporting a conventional army.

It's good to have a job that you enjoy. But when killing is what you enjoy... well, it's unfortunate that you can get a job that supports that passion.

isn't it good we have a constructive way for people to enjoy their killings such as military and police forces?

If we didnt they would be committing crimes and then take up our jail space.

And it's NOT ok to feel good about shooting people just cause they slap their women either.

Frankly, it's only a hop, skip, and jump from saying it feels good to shoot people for it, and saying it's ok to shoot people for it.

Well we disagree on that slippery slope, and I dont think theres any real empirical test for it. This guy didnt go shooting people who he didnt have the legal right to under the laws of war. We will never know if anyone else feels this way, now that this guys been "slapped" down.
