Bah, no, they're boring! Esp. when more and more new rituals came out, I wondered how those guys had time to eat, sleep, fight for the empire or to produce little Klingons if they were required to conduct a ceremony before everything!

I'd rather be a Klingon than a human.

        • Just find a Klingon, say you're a great warrior, then ask if he accepts you in his house. Of course you'd probably have to do lots of those stupid rituals before...

"Dear Doctor" was OK, but it's got some questionable science and Archer's big speech to Phlox is way too Prime Directive-influenced considering there isn't a Prime Directive yet. "Shuttlepod One" was a good character piece but doesn't even need the Star Trek setting to work. "The Andorian Incident" is probably the closest to a TOS S1 level, though the ending didn't work for me, specifically Archer's decision (he really doesn't know **** about the broader issues between Vulcan and Andoria, yet forces the Vulcans to divulge secret information to Andoria without giving any thought to how that will play out or what the ramifications might be for Earth).
There is some really good episodes ("City on the edge of forever" being my all time favourite episode of allt he ST series) The other ones you mentioned are really good as well. But then again there´s some real stinkers like "Charlie X" and "Miri". And then there´s the "funny" episode "Mudd´s Women" with a view on women that makes you slightly sick to the stomach. It´s pretty bad even for a TV-show made 1966...

I stand by my earlier statement that Enterprise season 1 is better in lacking the obvious stinkers of TOS season 1.

So, rather than having brilliance marred by one or two sunspots, you'd rather have the glory of dull, dim mediocrity?

Sorry, I disagree. I'd rather have the brilliance, flawed as it is, than pure, unadultered drivel sh1t. I'd rather have TOS, warts and all, than Enterprise.

I'm glad Enterprise is gone. I just wish they'd retcon it out of the Trek universe and give it its own world to be in.

And honestly, I think the franchise as been dying an agonizing death after DS9.

                              • I don't really understand the love for DS9. Those space battles were a travesty.
