I hope they find the ****er who did this. I hope he resists and gets shot.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Erm, he's been in custody since the day it happened...

I haven't really followed that portion, just the update on the people who got hurt.

Hopefully the prosecutors have brains, and pursue the death penalty. Lets just hope the prosecutor isn't one of those soft anti-death penalty types.

If they do, the whole thing will get really funny if you've got a grisly sense of humor. Platoons of lawyers will file a string of appeals and spend hundreds of hours arguing that he should be kept alive, AND THE WHOLE THING HAPPENED BECAUSE HE WANTED TO KILL HIMSELF!!
"THE" plus "IRS" makes "THEIRS". Coincidence? I think not.

Either way it is a pity he didn't resist and get killed in the process of an arrest because now a bunch of the taxpayers' money is going to be wasted. Death penalty of not. But I think we should give him a two week trial, and then take him out to the back putting him infront of a firing squad.

The fuel costs would be too expensive. Just throw him in front of a subway train. (It's what he really wanted after all)

I heard they caught a guy who was trying to do a copy cat suicide attempt. The fool parked his car on the train tracks and was waiting for the train.

This is why we in NYC keep most of our trains separate from traffic.

honestly, i don't see why we should charge the guy with murder.

if we give him due process, we'll find out why he wanted to kill himself. a good defender will, well, argue that he was beside himself (and his car) at the time.

                              the choice is clear:
                              1. he obviously wanted to commit suicide. therefore, we should call up ol' doc kevorkian, and give this guy a little helping hand. good for all you liberal snots out there who want to have clear consciences without capitally punishing the guy.

                              2. he obviously wanted to commit suicide. therefore, we keep him in a lockbox on permanent suicide watch, forcing him to stay alive and perhaps watch coverage of this little snafu of his on repeating cctv. good for all you vindictive conservatives who want to punish this guy for the rest of his miserable life.

Don't see why? Why should he be let to live? Just give him what he wants. Plus 20 years behind bars waiting for the death penalty (typical in liberal California). You think this guy should get off the hook for killing 11 people? I don't ****ing think so. A life sentence is stupid and a slap on the wrist for this ****.
