  • L.A. Train Wreck

Wow, have you seen the pictures yet? Two commuter trains and a freight train collided; at least 3 dead; cars tossed around like toys. Second heli-vac copter just lifted off with severely injured people.

All the people I know that use the Metrolink would be headed south; these were north-bound trains, so I'm not personally effected. But damn, it's just so sad.

The word is now that some #@&!*! who wanted to commit suicide wedged his SUV across the tracks so that the trains would hit it. --But he chickened out, jumped out of his SUV as the trains approached and watched the accident as it occurred.

He's been charged with homicide. Last I heard, the death count is up to 9, with about three dozen severely injured. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

              Very sad.

The bastard who caused this acted so selfishly I can't believe it. What ****ing moron doesn't think that his doing such a thing will hurt or kill other people? Does he think trains are drones?

Throw the book at him. *******.

Why did the dumbass bring his SUV into it anyway? Just stand on the damn tracks. I don't believe his story.

For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

In movies, trains that hit cars don't derail.

In real life cars don't explode as they do in movies.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

In real life, ****ers like the guy who caused this actually exist.

Damn, this guy needs some serious help.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I doubt he'll live very long, evenmoreso now that his name is out (LA Times among others).

My thoughts and sympathies to the many people affected by this meaningless tragedy.
