The leader of the Socialist People's Party for 14 years, Holger K. Nielsen, will also announce his resignation later today, in view of yesterday's 'disappointing' result for the party with a loss of one seat in Parliament, leaving them with just 11 seats.
The Social Democrats' leader will also resign, and basically the entire left wing of Danish politics has been crushed beyond recognition for the second time in a row now.
The 3 parties left of center got a total of 35.3% of the votes in yesterday's election, a loss of 2.6 %-points compared to the already disastrous result of the 2001 election, and a mere 64 seats out of the 179 in Parliament.
No wonder they're all resigning.
