I have to give Patriots their props. They are an awesome team. They just did not make mistakes. Eagles have made mistakes in games this year but have always rebounded in time to win. Not gonna happen against a team like NE. Eagles will be back in the Super Bowl next year. I just hope they dont need 4 visits before they win it (like NFC championship)...

                  • You mean like Pittsburgh did two weeks ago?

                    • The remarkable thing was that NE was playing with a lot of defensive starters injured and Philly was playing with everyone "healthy." The NE team is still very young. What this adds up to is that NE should return to the Superbowl next year as well, barring injuries. This team may be as dominant as Green Bay was in the '60s, Pittsburgh in the '70s or San Francisco in the '80s.

                      • BTW, the only way someone is going to beat NE is to field a team with a better defense. Pittsburgh was close, this year. But I think the Baltimore team that won the Superbowl a couple of years ago, or the great Tampa Bay teams, could beat NE. But teams having defenses that good are a rairity.

I personally think Chicago is on the verge of having a Superbowl quality defense. However, it needs an offense. A complete retooling.

                        • Pittsburgh doesn't have a good enough offense. But their QB should get better.

The thing about NE is they are losing some defensive coaching and maybe their offensive coordinator? I'm not sure how much effect that will have though, as Billecheck is good at training new coaches.

                          • Also, didn't NE have a couple more injuries during the game? Their free safety broke his arm. I also thought the strong safety got hurt.

Both their starting corners were out. On paper, NE was decimated defensively.

But they still looked good -- real good -- on defense.

Yep, that usually has a BIG effect on teams. I think New England will have some problems as a result. Both Weis and Crennel have left and may try to take some other NE coaches with them.
