  • The only problem with this theory is how are they getting supplies, unless they've got a massive stockpile like Desmond did
Uh... they did have a submarine until Locke blew it up

and the thing with Charlie confused me.

    • Yeah, if charlie indeed thought fast enough to seal the door to save desmond, it would have been just as easy to be on the other side of it. Some timing might have been necessary but still very easy to do.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

      • I think Charlie just believed in Desmond's flashes, and believed that he had to die for Claire and Aaron to be rescued. Or, he would die anyway, and was sick of cheating death.

        • So, of the surviving major characters (those in the opening credits), here is a list of those who have not actually physically killed someone (so far as we know):

Jack (who almost certainly has killed in surgery, for what that's worth)
Claire (who may have pulled mom's plug before getting on 815)
(Add in Rose if they make her a more major character, and Walt if he truly does come back.)
          ...
          that is all.

Of course, most of the others haven't committed murder per se:

Sayid, Jin: justifiable homicide, self-defense (add in Bernard if they make him a more major character)

Hurley: justifiable homicide, saving others; involuntary manslaughter, would never be convicted (Nikki & Paulo)

          Juliet: justifiable homicide, saving others

Sun: justifiable homicide, self-defense OR convictable involuntary manslaughter, depending on how you look at it

Ben, Kate, Sawyer, Locke: pre-meditated murder (add in Michael if he ever comes back)

          • Awesome: all of Rose's lines--Rambo, S.O.S., Live Together or Die Alone.

Awesomer: Poor, heroic Charlie. I'll seriously miss the little spaz.

Awesomest: Hurley at his heroic, hilarious best. Running down Others in his bus, and then: "Others. Come in, Others."

                • The Charlie dying thing was retarded. Just run through the door and close it. End of problem.

Not to mention if I knew the danger was drowning in that room then I'd have gotten the SCUBA gear before going into the room. Just in case.

                  • Oh, yeah. I saw that some people were floating around the idea that everyone was dead and they were in a parallel universe or purgatory or something. We know that isn't the case because last week the writers for the series flat out said that wasn't the case. They had one of those stupid behind the scenes space filler shows. My DVR recorded since it officially an episode of Lost.

True, but you expect Sayid to be superlatively awesome. Those other guys stepped up; that was Sayid being Sayid.

The worst part of all this is that we have to wait until 2008 for new episodes. I am really, really fascinated by where it's gonna go from here. Clearly, at least Jack & Kate get off the island, but is it because of Naomi's boat? Who are they, anyway? What becomes of the other 815ers, and their adopted members (Des/Juliet)? The Others?

I agree with Drake, this was a much better finale than Heroes, although as a whole the Heroes season was better.

Indeed. Still, I feel I must give credit where credit is due.

                        • Confused the hell out of me. Having watched the second half of it first didn't help

What was the flashback all about? If it's the future, then how can Jack's father be alive? Timeline mixing due to Desmond?

I still think Lost should end after 3 or 4 seasons, not after 6, like it's going to... but okay. At least there's hope that the writers know where they're going .

Ben was just stupid, though. Tells Tom to kill Bernard, Jin and Sayid, and expects Jack to react how?

                          • It's not clear Jack's dad is alive in the flash-forward. They made it seem that way, but that might have been just Jack's drugs talking (and making us think it was another flashback). Timeline-mixing is still possible, though.

                            • Okay, but then what really indicates that it's a flash-forward? Kate at the very end? Could have been his drugs as much as his father being alive.

Then again, I do feel like I really missed something...

                              • Why do you all think Jack's dad is alive? I never saw him, I only heard a drugged up delusional Jack talk about him and that guy from Vegas look at him weird when he did talk about him.
