The betrayal of Medinaceli hit El Chris Campeador hard, as it ended any hope of conquest in the East for the forseeable future.
He had to content himself with the capture of a mule train south east of the city, but this was small consolation.

Having felt the sting of Muslim betrayal, El Chris Campeador began to regroup his forces, and rebuild his army.
The Moors tried to exploit what they thought was a weakness in the forces of Castile, but were roughly handled, and suffered a major defeat on the raod south west of Medinaceli.
The Christian forces caught three muslim formations in lose order, grouping in a forest, out of contact with the main boby of their army, and slaughtered them to the last man.
Other forces of Castile-Leon continued to kill Muslim Harlots in the mountains near Segovia, and with these events, the prospects of the Christian forces began to rise....
