Already did. Appleciders said he made a calculating error.

        • Well, I wonder if he corrected it.

            • Really though, your food supply is good, ours is sub-adequate. Our mathematicians calculate that if the trade is temporarily put on hiatus, both our societies will have adequate food supplies until additional food resources can be harnessed. We already have several ideas in the works.

              • Yep, Lord Nuclear, that ridiculously large number after your population is correct. I had already fixed the error by the time I made that post notifying you of it.

I'll be altering the way military units are recruited next turn, too, so be prepared.

                • Bush Gnomes:
Population: Home: 520 gnomes (25 military, 234 work force), 52 ants
The only problem is that workforce plus military don´t add up to at least half of that population...

Then you should be happy knowing that you are killing innocent children.

                    • Ok, now the population is correct. Sorry, I made the change in my notepad and forgot to make it on the first post.

                      • Okay, I'm going to keep my orders the same, except have 30 gnomes go collect ants.

                        • Changes noted. All I'm waiting for is Bipolarbear and Foolish, and since they've both been active lately, I hope to be able to start this update Friday night.

So don't have them and they won't die.

Here's what the acorn shells are used for:

Some are split in half and hollowed out. The shell does not have to be very thick, because its purpose is stealth. Other shells will have the top 1/4 or 1/5 or so cut off, then contents removed.

Gnomes will hide under the half acorn, walking to their destination and peering through the vision slot, dragging the nearly whole but hollowed acorn behind them, secured with roped that go inside and outside the half acorn and are tied off. (Harnesses are being developed that will allow the half shell to be held aloft directly by the gnomes bodies so they don't have to carry it with their arms, but we're not there yet.) When food is found, they walk as near to it as possible (in some cases right over it) pick it up and put it in the storage acorn. So this is the contraption that will be used in dangerous areas for food and resource gathering. If there is danger they can't get away from, they can simply set down the half shell and hide under it and hope (a reasonable hope, unless squirrels are involved ) that they won't be noticed. And if they are attacked, the half shell should be good for defending from at least one attack before it is torn off, giving them at least a little bit of time to scatter.

10 gnomes try and try ants to pull small twigs or stones across the ground with harnesses to turn soil, to save agricultural gnomes some back breaking work.

12 gnomes trained as war axe gnomes.

5 NKVD agents start reconaissance of the massive hollow mountain known only as "Johnson House". How to get in, how to get out, what supplies will we need, record the comings and goings of its giant inhabitants and what times we can avoid them etc. to prepare for our mission to reach the elusive Silkworm.

5 gnomes officially appointed to the new position of Scratcharians: These are administrators and organizers well skilled in the arts of planning and delegation, recording and figuring out the most efficient way to do things and better run the colony. This is a prestigious position, and only the most skilled advisors to the king are appointed, and it has become somewhat of a fad amongst the upper class to practice these skills in the hopes of entering the king's court as a Scratcharian. Indeed, already 1 of the 5, one renowned for her intelligence and vigor, has risen from the working class to this position, earning the admiration of the people and the grudging respect of most of the upper class. These Scratcharians will also take time to tutor the royal children, who are expected to be proficient in the intellectual arts and governing duties.

But of course the Scratcharians need a facility, and the storage rooms are inadequate for the scratch-writings available to the general public which are piling up, so a new facility, a Scratchiary, will be constructed that will contain the offices of the Scratcharians and the scratch writing records for the public.
25 gnomes will get to work constructing this.

15 gnomes harvest acorns for their hearty insides as food,

5 do the finishing work turning them into the contraptions described,

and 15 use them to forage for food and goodies, especially fallen bird seeds.

                            35 hit it.
