OOC: It's called negotiation. BTW, Macedonia and I have discussed this, and they're behind me on this one.

    Egypt to Persia:
We've noticed that you have no camel source. Would you like to begin importing camels at 6 talents\turn?

    Egypt to Lydia:
While we don't care where we buy our marble from, right now we do not have the budget for marble at all. Should we require marble in the future, we'll keep you in mind.

    Egypt to Carthage:
We're willing to talk terms, if peace is what you truely want. But we want reparations for past damages, and assurance that this won't happen again.

To begin, Carthage will surrender control of all land from the grain resource west of Leptis Magna. This land will henceforth be controlled by Egypt and Macedonia.

Next, Carthage will allow Egyptian and Macedonian colonies in Iberia to be founded and grow without limit. Any interference with these colonies will be considered an act of war.

Carthage will have no more than 20,000 troops total in their army, of which no more than 30 will be elephants.

Finally, Carthage will pay 100 talents to Egypt as reparations for the sacking of Ammonion.

Egypt and Macedonia await your response.

OOC: I quit responding to your messengers because we did nothing but accuse each other, and it was basically spam.

Why on earth would Persia buy elephants from you? They already have an elephant resource.

As you can see now, Egypt does not want peace, as they don't even respond to our messengers, yet we have heard Egypt responding to other nations. A peace between Carthage and Macedonia is wanted, and needed.

    Lydian trade offers

To Egypt, Given Crete's stubborn defense of its pirates would you not feel more comfortable dealing with an honest nation? We are prepared to supply you with the Marble that you have been receiving from Crete at the same price. Unlike your current supplier we will be able to provide this resource despite the current Aegean War.

To Bosporian Greeks, Our new silver mine produces virgin silver that is silver that has never been mined before. This extra fine silver is just the thing for your nobles, upper classes and others who wish to distinguish themselves in a society already so distinguished. I can make this offer to you at 8 talents because of the long history of profitable trade, but please act while supplies last.

Well if that’s the way its going to be, we hope you believe in a friendly afterlife. We give you one chance to work with us instead of watering the fields with your blood. Consider carefully.

    Impressive, Laurentius, as always!

    To Everyone
Just as a reminder, since this kind of thing was treated a bit too lax until now: Please keep in mind that you will need certain strategic ressources for several units!
That includes timber for ships and horses for any kind of cavalry!
From the next update on all orders regarding the training of new units without having the needed ressources will be ignored!

    Announcement:
There will be two new strategic ressources in Africa: Camels and Elephants. As to their use, this should be quite obvious. Camelriders will be new units, basically a heavy cavalry equipped for desert operations and with a bonus against horses.

    Edit:
    • War Elephant costs have been increased to 1 talent per elephant.
    • Carthaginian elephant numbers in armies have been adjusted.
    • Lydia can now train hoplites if supplied with copper
    • Persia can now train war elephants if supplied with elephants.
    • Egypt and Persia can now train camelriders if supplied with camels.
