The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

While I agree that systematically poor grammar and/or spelling does generally indicate that a scenario sucks, some mistakes are inevitable.
Why?
1) Try loading one of the pedia.txt, game.txt, rules.txt or labels.txt files into MS Word for spell checking purposes. All the stuff which makes these files work in the civ engine will show as errors, and clicking through them takes a long time and is very dull.
2) It takes a long time to make a scenario. At some stage you're always going to forget check certain elements you wrote 3 months ago.
3) Conversely, some bits of every scenario are rushed.
I guess the moral of the story is to not obsess over the odd typo, no matter how glaring and anoying that typo is.

Oh c-mon all of You. I know my scenarios are full of grammar and spelling mistakes, and still, I do not think they are crap JUST because of that. There are many other things that have to be wrong for the scenario to be crap. Just because I use wrong tense or mispell a word, that doesn't mean the entire scenario is wrong. Otherwise You'd have to say that only a native English speaker can make REALLY good scenario.
