I was really looking forward to this title, but I fear my computer may not be up to the task which is a pity, as I have no plan to upgrade at this time.

Pffth. It works just fine on my 1.83Ghz ½ gig without crashes. You just have to wait a few minutes when starting up the .exe.

Look, if you're afraid of losing $$$, simply try out the demo first. The game is not exactly running smoothly, but my 3 years old budget PC certainly is up for the task of running it. No glitches, no bugs, no crashes, no freezes or jams.

It's a good idea to try the demo. Just bear in mind that the game runs a little smoother than the demo(especially patched).

Well, I just installed the FX 6200 in place of the FX 5200. the game is a lot smoother and it is now possible to move around the screen accurately so it is a least playable. Still seems a bit slow though, even on the fastest setting.

Now I'm getting into the game it is quite a learning curve even for an EU2 vet.

You probably has an integrated Intel chip or an old graphics card. If you're lucky, you can play though, the 1.1 patch has some code into it that makes some old cards that can't play the game originally, able to play it, although with worse graphics and some performance drop IIRC. Check out one of the official forum's topped threads, there you can find more info.

Im thinking of picking the game up soon.Have other titles by Paradox such as Hearts of Iron 2...and understand that most of their games are in need of at least 2 to 3 patches before its playable.Have been reading the posts on their site and its rather miixed on how well 1.1 is doing.Could be due in part to low specs on their computors.Work around by modders should resolve some problems while waiting for patches.Will see.
