I won't even pretend I've bought it, I've boycotted Maxis since I bought Sim City 3 at full price then they released the "unlimited addition" a weak later, also at full price - without offering the new additions free to those who have already bought it or anything. And then there is the shameful way they keep pumping out expansions for The Sims (I haven't fallen for that one, though!)
I feel they owe me a free game.
No one and I mean no one owe you jack shlt. A company makes a product and you can buy or not buy, but no one owe you.

The bastard isn't working right for me.
It installed fine, but when I launch the game nothing happens. My CPU usage throttles up and the HD thrashes for 3 seconds, then nothing.
The process is still running but the only way I could tell is by checking CTRL-ALT-DEL.
Maybe it doesn't work right with DirectX 9? Dunno, troubleshooting...
If you need any advice....
j/k
So how good is it !!!!tell meeeeee !!!!

I don't think the mods have any problem with the discussion aslong as we don't start posting links or offering to send people warez, ect...
As for the game, the graphics are excellent - too good for my computer, really. The gameplay is more or less the same as previous sim games, I haven't noticed anything signifigantly different. I haven't gotten a chance to see how cities can interact with each other, though.
The region is interesting but it is not always easy to make the different parts of the region connect together and look good. I was working on making my own region, but damn, it'd take an insane amount of work to build the entire thing and get all the sections flowing together nicely. I haven't played multiplayer (I doubt I can) but I'd be willing to bet that all the multiplayer regions will be grotesquely ugly, and mostly completely flat.
Another thing I noticed is that there is apparently no control over how the grid devides up the region, or how big the region itself is... even though the ones which come with the game have many different sizes and grids.
Perhaps the game is so good that all who have it simply vanish without a trace? ...Years later, their skeletons are found in front of a computer, Simcity still running...

Just got the game today, and I must admit, I haven't been away from the computer since I got it installed... This game is much better than previously SC games
Though one thing that bothers me, is the fact that I constantly get tons of msgs telling me about what's good and bad...
Oh, and it's diffecult to get the maps to look nice (specially when I'm busy playing around with the meteor disaster (I haven't tried to use the disasters in the city yet, since my cities aren't doing that well... yet
But all in all, the game is worth buying
I haven't tried the MP part yet (I figured it might be a good idea, to figure out how to get a city running before starting on that )
And one more thing: The game runs almost perfect, with my new computer (2.4 Ghz, 512 mb DDR ram)
It's pretty easy to make a map look good. Hell, it'd probably be hard to make one look bad simply because the graphics are so good. It's jsut geting them in sync with the neighbouring areas which is tricky, I'm starting to get the hang of it though.
This is what I've spent most of my time doing:
Maybe I should try building a city outside of the tutorial now.
