Well SnowFire, we all kow that Amiga had much better graphics and was more powerful than the early PCs. Amiga's graphics still look good considering how old they are.
@VetLegion: That's not the Croatian flag, is it?

I just recently discovered a copy of RRT2 Platinum for $10 in the bargain bin. I already had the original, but wanted the 2nd Century expansion & added scenarios.
RRT1 was one of my all-time favorites (yeah, I got Deluxe when it came out too). It was the main game I played on my (then) new 386 compatible. Prior to that, it was Pirates! on my C-64.
Re: the differences between RRT1 and 2... for the most part I like RRT2's changes. I miss being able to build a steel mill (or whatever) if there isn't one there. I miss tunnels. And I'm not a huge fan of the bronze/silver/gold "win conditions" - particularly because I don't like the personal wealth based ones. I like building a successful railroad, but I'm not as enthusiastic about playing the market.
Later when I got hold of a copy of RTdx, I was kind of disapointed since there was no longer the England map.(which was my favourite)
But the biggest disapointment was RT2. It seemed all the charm of RT was replaced with beer and pretzils eye candy. Plus, I think they gave it the wrong name.
It should have been called Stock Market Tycoon.
Transport Tycoon was a lot of fun though.

I've done just fine in RT2, for the most part, and I'm far from adept with the market manipulations. Perhaps the train management isn't quite up to the level of the original (wouldn't know as I haven't played it), but there's certainly an interesting game there.
I haven't played the original either and the game is awesome. Sometimes it does help when you cannot compare.
