Man, the Undead missions are going to be hard. I have no idea how I'm going to make it half way across the map in order to get the men needed to supplement my 3 man attack force and avoid the town guards at the same time.

Now I've made it to the "Burn the Boats" mission but I keep getting bogged down by the undead and can not destroy the last boat before time runs out. What did you people do to get past this mission?
Another hint for the boat mission: Near the end there is this road through a canyon with lot of enemy defence buildings on both sides of the road. Buy a teleport talisman at the shop right before the canyon, then just run through the canyon with your hero and teleport the others (12 units max, but that was enough for me) to you.

Use the Shadow guy, he is invisible and will show you where the Human forces are standing.
When past the bridge, when you acquire the help of the Shadow, use him to scout around the area. There will be three Acolytes in the neighborhood and some patrolling footmen, ignore the Acolytes and walk one step behind the patrolling footmen; take the three Acolytes last. Walk towards the water and hold position there for a while.
Scout around with the Shadow again, you'll find the graveyard then, go there, take the route behind the houses on the west and north side, and when at the graveyard the extra forces will be summoned. In the worst case only a Knight will follow you.
Just continue to scout ahead before you make a move with your platoon and you should be fine.

Does anyone have any tips on how to beat the Undead mission where you have to collect the moon crystals?

Build a good strong base (also construct some Air defence in the north of your base) and build up a nice well sized and balanced force to attack the base in the east of you (need to use zeppelins). Get the first crystal, exploit the mine there and protect it with a couple of defence buildings. Once your army is at full strength move through the first portal, do it with all your units at once there is always an army at the other end of the portal. (If you want to have a look at everything before you use the portal buy a certain item from the goblin shop which let's you reveal part of the the map for a few seconds.) Your army is now on an island with two other portals (along with the one you came from) which lead to an elven base each, both with one crystal. You'll have to destroy them, so again move through the next portal with your whole army at once and move back through the portal when you're done (since the island with the 3 portals is so close to your base it is easy to transport new creatures to your army with the help of the zeppelins.) Once you've got the crystal buy a few more zeppelins so that your entire army can fit in and invade the island in the north-east with the army (it becomes easier if you destroy the three towers which are close to the other island with you meatwagons; I'd also reveal the map there before I land all my troops.)

                  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip, chrono. Now I have another request for the strategists here. Does anyone have any tips on how to beat the mission "The Siege of Dalaran?"

                      well, I beat it

was that the one where you had to kill the three mages?

                      or the one before?

You have to kill the 3 mages in the mission I'm talking about.

                          ok

what you do is you have rushes

oyu get together a group and park them right outside of the bad area

you have alread explored so you know right where to go

on the second one use flyers

(it should be easy by the way, I was not very efficient)

on the first one keep your units alive with your Death Knight

on the third one attack the cages to let out monsters to fight for you

the montsers will not be affected by the damaging wards

the third one took a heavy rush by me

set up your rushes and then move in

make sure to have adequite support (in the first on meatwagons)

kill stuff along the way, but remember your target is the wizard, be prepared to forget all else

I did it the same way!
In the last rush don't care at all about the other enemies, just go through and find the wizard asap. Use your undead healing spell on the wizard to drain his life. If you don't have any meatwagons for the last rush don't bother getting new ones only speed is important.

Crappy animations, cheap artworks on unit closeups, but funny missions with some cool rpg-inspiration. I gave it a 3 on a diceroll.

I don't really care about the graphics too much, what I don't really like:
-only 12 units can be selected at once
-selected units don't show their healthbar (did anyone ever try to heal a unit in group 2 when the hero is in group 1, during a battle it is near impossible)
-the zoom doesn't really let me zoom out as much as I want, it is a 3d game there is no reason why they don't let you zoom out further.
-the unit subselection system is not very logical: either they should use that system AND use the same keyboard shortcuts for all the spells of different units. Or they could leave out the subselection and give every spell a different shortcut.
-way too few spells can be automated IMO

these are all details that could be changed easily but without them the game would be so much better. My brother bought the game though, I'm looking forward to AoM.
