Hm, I take it that 7 ... a6 is preparing for c5 without having to fear Nb5 and a (possibly) strong knight at d6?

    Must admit I expected 7 ... O-O instead.

You got it right ! 7 c5 would have been a mistake. 7 O-O was playable too.

Sorry, like an idiot, I forgot to write the last line.
I didn’t want to edit my message.
Seems unfair in a postal chess game.

                Well, almost.
But I think you will agree one should note edit his message when posting moves. It would be like taking back his move in an over the board game. What’s more a few controversies have happened through the games already played. It was all between gentlemen, but imagine if one had edited his messages. “No, I played so and so. By the next move I had already assumed you played that and you didn’t correct me.”
So as I want editing to be forbidden in this chess games and I had to choose the lesser evil : posting twice and be ready to face the shame.

What? Do you refer to the misreading of notation or something else (like arguments about made moves, abusive behaviour etc)?

well the misread moves that I have done are completely my own fault. That has to be the player's responsibilty.

I put "to change my move" on an edit but that was a meager attempt at humour.IIRC it was cuz I messed up a hyperlink to an position image.

I really haven't noticed any controversy.
                      ??

There are quite a few games going now at civfanatics.Almost a league.Tournaments to come..possibly.

The least I can say is that choosing the piece that should take on c5 was not easy. But Ladies first !

Sorry, the word “controversies” was much too strong. You are right.
What I meant is that if there was mistakes with the positions and then some editing there could be controversies. But I also said everything so far was very friendly.

Must admit I expected 10 Nxc5. That looks like a strong night (controlling a lot of centre squares and near the upcoming action at my queenside) and it gives the bishop at c8 some breathing space. But if the Apolyton champ chooses the queen I guess it's a good move! At least the night at d7 will back up f6, right?

                              My turn.
