Edit: Let's try this one more time. If I still have the notation messed up, what I am doing is moving my QN from its home square to square directly in front of the location for the QB pawn. Hopefully all will now be clear. I told you guys that my old brain doesn't handle translating back and forth between notations well.

Ken, no knight can move to c3 ! And if you move your knight to c6, as I think you want to, you need to tell me which one (b4 or b8).

Ah, then this one was intentional! Granted, I'm new to the new terminology myself but if I'm not mistaken, Nb4c6 refers to one knight and N1-QB3 refers to the other one. Very clever, Ken.

Thank you kcbob. I think that I have everything properly indicated. Gee, you would think that some level of ability in 4 or 5 human languages plus another 5 or 6 computer languages would be enough to get along in life. But no, they also want you to learn more than on language in chess too. With my luck, when I die I'll find that none of the three basic choices (Heaven, Hell, or feeding the trees) is correct and I'll have to learn something else just for the privilege of being dead.
