I did it the old-fashoned way. I killed heaps of civilians until police turned up. Then I started killing them too until I got 6 stars. I destroyed the first lots of military troop carriers and soon a tank arrived. After shooting them (first, otherwise they kill you with a second burst fire from their gun) I jumped in the tank and then grabbed the 6 police bribes I just happened to have outside my save-area. Hooray.
How did you get 6 police bribes outside your save area?

GTA3 only. You do vigilante missions on all 3 islands, 10 missions on each island gets you a bribe at your hideout, maximum of 2 bribes earnt per island.
For Vice City, you just have to learn the locations of the bribes, unfortunately.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Ah. I didn't realize you were talking about GTA3.
After playing Vice City I just can't go back to GTA3.

They said the same thing, about GTA3, and Vice City, and that Rockstar had signed this big contract, and it would be 2010 before we'd even hear about those games on an xbox, but look what happened.
Lysistrata: It comes down to this: Only we women can save Greece.
Kalonike: Only we women? Poor Greece!

Ditto, I started on Vice City, and never really could stand gta3, it is jst wayy too dark in the city for me. I was always squinting, even with the settings all the way up.

I messed around with GTA3 on a friend's playstation2 before Vice City came out and liked it, but then there was a long gap in between that and playing Vice City so I didn't notice the differences until I went back to GTA3 after playing Vice City. I agree that GTA3 is too dark, and I also think the city streets are less distinctive and therefore harder to navigate.

I experienced the opposite, actually. I can never find my way around Vice City, but in GTA3 I was able to make a mental map and memorize where everything was quite quickly.
