    Well you need something to do when you've finished your adventuring career. Why not owning a museum of magic weapons? That'd be cool. Mind you, you'd have trouble with thieves trying to help themselves. So you'd need magic traps! And ordinary ones too. And some more traps! A couple more traps to protect your really precious and supremely valuable Moonblade certainly wouldn't go amiss, and if somone tried to detect and disable the traps then you'd need to have the traps trapped too.
    What's the Moonblade like if I had chosen to take Xan with me? Any good? Not the best sword in the game I wouldn't have thought, but I'm still curious as to its powers.

      Its crap. Do you know why? Becuase only Xan can use it. His Thac0 is so poor, and he'll never have more than 1 attack per round. Even if the sword did 6d6+52 points of damage it would still suck*

      And what adventurer want to set themselves up as a target for more adventurers to come and attack them? I mean a museum of magic weapons, heavily guarded and trapped. That will attract every adventurer in the world like flies

      *Although if it did, I would import it into BG2 and give it to a thief with Use Any Items for the pure cheezy taste we all love so well.

        I'm afraid that this thread was trapped Jamski, and that you've just suffered a loss of 26 HP and a 4323 PCR just by posting here.

              Yes, it won't let you install it without that (it checks and tells you).

              I did.

              Thanks for the suggestion Doc, I'll try it and hope. How do I scan the drive though? Defrag it?

                Try right-clicking on the C drive in "My Computer" and there could well be a option to scan the disc.

                  Well with Win2k if you installed to your system drive you can run chkdsk from 'start' then 'run'. Not sure what utility XP has. You can also select any drive from my computer and right click then properties, and there is a drive checking tool in 'tools'. I think that would pick up free space reporting errors.

                    Thanks Doc and Jamski. However I've decided to sod the whole thing, format the drive, and reinstall both BG, BGII and ToB, then the patches, then Tutu, and then finally Kelsey, Chloe and the flirt pack. Then I will start a game as a Ranger, who will be dualled to a Cleric about the start of BGII. Although I am tempted with a half-elven multiclass, but I think that levels up too slowly, so the dual class it is

                      Have reformatted, scanned and found no errors. Tried to reinstall BGI. Now shows 1337MB free, when there's actually 9.3GB. Tried installing it on other partitions, and it shows 2047MB on all, regardless on how much is actually there, even when there's less than that.

                      Setup.ini shows this, if it helps:
                      [Startup]
                      AppName=Baldur's Gate
                      FreeDiskSpace=593

                        You'll have to ask some tech people. It sounds like the installer isn't reading your HD properly. There is a way of MANUALLY doing a full install, by copying the contents of discs 2-5 into the right folders... Ummm I can't say what those proper folders would be though

                          I installed BG1 on my old 'puter the other day and, while it told me that there were only 1.5 gigs of free space (real number was close to six), it did carry out the full install of over two gigs properly without a hitch. *shrug*

                            Ok so it isn't Windows misreading the free space, but the game. There's no problem unless it whinges about installing when there is not enough room.

                            You should install BG1 anyway and check it works fine. It probably will, as long as it installs. Then you can eliminate this a cause for your tutu problem, about which I have no idea.

                                That's what I thought. My copy of BG is leet!

                                Anyways, if that doesn't work, my bro's back, so I'll try and install his copy. Thanks for the help all.
