Atari 2600--bought it when it first came out (early '80s?). I still play 'Joust' now and then.

i presume you mean oldest console/oldest console game in your possesion. If you mean oldest game, that would be Avalon hill's 1914. A board game i received in 1973, i think, and which i still own.

Actually, I just remembered I have a 1980 Sears Grand Prix game. LED with a looping belt. Utterly primitive; I didn't even like it at the time.

I should still have my "Commander Keen 4" floppy disk somewhere. It's the first game I bought, which must've been 1992 or something... I think Civ2 was only the second game I bought (with lots of "borrowing" in between), in 1997.

I should also have two or three of those mini-consoles, like alva. But I don't think they are, ahem, as advanced as cellphone games. They're definitely from before 1992, probably '89 or '90.

A primary school friend of mine also had a Lynx by the way, so I played some on that too.

I don't have my Master System, Mega Drive, or NES anymore. I do have a SNES, but that's not that old. However I do have a BBC Micro. The only games I can remember for that are Repton and King's Quest.

Well, as one can read in my original post:

"What's the oldest platform/console, game, controller, etc you have in your possession? (Board games and the like excluded.)"

Still, a 30 year old board game is pretty good. Mine are usually falling apart after three.

I still have my VIC20 (which was before the C64), my C64, AMiga and even my first PC (25Mhz,386 REAL!!!).

In before I had a game-console I even can't remember the name off. Actually I still have it, just can't remember the name anymore and it is somewhere in the dungeon.......aehm I ment cellar.......

The VIC20 was around 1981 when I got it.

Just that people have something to laugh about:

                          It was equiped with:
3.5 KByte of RAM (later upgraded to 16KByte)
                          16 colours (IIRC)
                          Tape Drive !!!!!!!!!!!!

                          Processor speed: ~200KHz (IIRC)

                          Good old times

The Original Mario Bros. You know the one... that they just run around on that one screen and dodge fireballs and bop turtles from underneath.

Also have 'Popeye' on the C64 along with a bunch of others. Then an Apple IIc with some games as well.
