Did you know that you can't post the above in the Morrowind forums? Its considered a "spoiler"....

Are you sure? Why do they have a forum section entitled "Morrowind Cheats, Hints, and Spoilers" then?

I even tried selling the ring to her.
What person/guild is this mission for?

Yeah, I remember that one. I think you just have to show her the ring. Check your journal to see if you completed it.
        John Brown did nothing wrong.

        • Its a side-quest. To start the quest just go to St Olms and ask anyone about the latest rumour.

EDIT: How do you show her the ring. No talking option allows you to. Well, it didn't allow me to.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

          • Perhaps there is a bug related to it? Have you checked the Morrowind forums?

That is why we flock to apolyton. We are a cut above the average.

                • Ok, I reloaded the game and killed the guy again. This time I got a journal entry after killing him which allowed me to finish that mission. I got 3 cure disease potions out of it, but now the mission is off my mission list.
Must have just been a bug.

                    • oh that reminds me. How exactly do you combine ingredients? I never figured that out. Do you just drag and drop them over each other?

You will NEED a Mortar and Pestle; to use, just equip them on your character.

Having an alembic, calcinator, and retort helps, as does your alchemy skill, intelligence, luck, and the quality of your equipment.

                          • A nifty set is in the mages guild, Caldera. Masters set, easy to steal, just don't get caught and fined by guards while carrying it. They will take all ~10,000 worth of it.

I just keep my alchemy stuff in "my house" with all of my ingerdients. It gives me more room to carry stuff ,I don't have to worry about handing them over to Imperial swine. I normally just make the potions at home, and take what I need, or resell the potions that I already have spells for, like invisibility.
