Never had anybody to 'link' Amiga's with, so I never tried it

You didn't have to link your computers together to play it. I was only highlighting it as a "special feature", along with the editor.
I only ever played against the computer. I don't know what anyone else thought of it, but I found that the difficulty gradient went from really easy....to impossibly hard in no time.

There are many more regular players who can come and guess before the next clue tomorrow.

Besides, there were only 2 leagues in both Speedball games. Don't know about the reissue on PS though.
