Speed = dots forward. Left or right only let you move 1 dot from your current position left or right.

At the rate I'm getting rammed, I may be there.

And isn't alva two dots behind at speed 0 or are we all on the same dot. It might make a difference in the future.

alva is two dots behind but has speed one because you got rammed by Jamski, while there was really nothing slowing alva down last turn.
