    Ach, R-Type

I got it mixed up with other single-letter-with-hyphen names.

    1) The crappy metaspam is an affront to the true manner of the artform. - Dauphin
That's like trying to overninja a ninja when you aren't a mammal. CAN'T BE DONE. - Kassi on doublecrossing Ljube-ljcvetko

OK here are the answers to the original question:

      top left: Missile Command (1980)
      top right: Bard's Table (1987)
      bottom left: Mule (1983)
      bottom right: R-Type (1987)

It was R-Type that inspired me. I saw it's picture and suddenly remembered what a cool game that was to play. I thought very few others played it, but amazingly it was at #16 in the following list.

      Most Influential Games
"I'm so happy I could go and drive a car crash!"
"What do you mean do I rape strippers too? Is that an insult?"
      - Pekka

Again, close, but no. I would normally think that such close guesses as Grand Prix Whatever would constitute the right answer, but since Main_Brain already provided a dead-giveaway hint that the command to run it is GP... No. Gotta get that last bit right.

Actually, Pole Position II - the original did not have the split screen.

            Pit Stop 2

That's the only racing game I had on my C64. I did play the hell out of it. I'm just guessing, I'm not that familiar with racing games.

Dissident is right! It's Pit Stop II.

Unless the same game had different names in different parts of the world?

Oh, and thanks everybody for the help with explaining the upload service. Overwhelming, I really don't have words enough to thank ya' all!

So, how does it work? I did upload the pic somewhere, God knows where, but how do I get it from wherever it is into a post? Or do you all simply take them directly from your hard drive?

when I mentioned World Circuit (which, incidentally is aka Grand Prix, the very first one), I was not referring to the game whose pic was posted by vovan. I was just taken by good memories from those times... playing GP till the wee hours in the morning...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Ive not attached files before, so forgive me if this falls flat on its face.

Here's one of my all time fav's from the 80's.

Definitely not..........though I think it's one of the earlier Ultimate games. I'll try Underwurlde.
