Hmmm, I think that Hip-Hop and Country probably beat out Classical in the US market (at least). Techno and Dance probably beat out classical in Europe as well.

Classical may have longevity... but Elvis and the Beatles will be known in 400 years too.

They may outsell classical, but neither has a "majority" stake in music sales. There is no majority in this regard.

And Elvis and the Beatles prove my point...so few of the 'pop' stars will be remembered. And frankly--I don't think Elvis will be remembered much beyond the death of his last contemporary fan. He isn't really making new adherents like the Beatles are!

I never said there was. But you claimed that classical ISN'T minority.

I don't think Elvis will be remembered much beyond the death of his last contemporary fan. He isn't really making new adherents like the Beatles are!

By the 'younger generation' a few decades ago. You know, just as the younger generation today claims Elvis will be forgotten.

To say Elvis is going to be forgotten is utterly and totally silly. The King ain't going anyway in America's consciousness.

I still recommand anybody to listen to Seeed (yes, there are 3 'e'), especially songs like Dickes B or Tide is High.

i found a great track on the new white label euphoria album (which to be honest isn't that great overall, zykla would love it though). revelation - just be dub to me

other tracks i've been listening to:

safri duo vs madision avenue - everything you need (i don't know how this track is actually credited)

I love Glenn Miller!!! I've gotten a bunch of my friends to like him too! He will never die!

But your point is valid, once a certain genre of music fades away even the BEST bands/musicians/'artists' fade away with it.

It wouldn't surprise me if in 40 years people will be asking me "elvis who?"

up to the beatles music. There's nothing much Elvis has that goes for evry generation to relate to.
