    Koreans small? Hee Sop Choi (Cubs rookie 1Bman) is 6'5'' 240lbs. Sure, he is probably on the top of the Bell Curve, but I don't think the Korean average height is much smaller than American.
    To us, it is the BEAST.

        That reminds me of an old Vietnam-era joke:

        A newbie in Vietnam asked how he could tell the Viet Cong from the regular citizenry. He was told you yell out "F*** Ho Chi Minh. If he shoots at you, he's a Viet Cong."

        A week later, the newbie is found in the hospital. He's asked what happened.

        "Well, I saw a Vietnamese and so I shouted out, 'F*** Ho Chi Minh.' He shouted back, 'F*** LBJ.' And while we were in the middle of the road shaking hands, a truck ran over us."

              That has to be one of the funniest jokes on here in a long time.

                Korean insults are wierd.

                Most of the 'bad' ones basically mean crazy or stupid, or 'gay say ree' (Yeah that's not the proper way but that's how it sounds to me, Son of dog).

                I got in a bit of trouble calling a girl 'crazy' because it translates as michinoma, it isn't a lighthearted thing in Korean.

                Also, I know it exists but none of the korean teachers here can tell me the word for 'silly', or 'wacky' or some other lighthearted equivalent for 'foolish'.

                I keep getting 'babo' or 'may-long' which is really 'stupid' or 'fool' in English.
                "Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
                "...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
                "sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

                  Hope you are OK, Seeker.

                  OTOH, I am glad they were not Russians.

                    gay say ree == keh sek ki
                    michinoma ~= (another form of) michinnum ~= michinseki (son of, actually)

                    yeah, for some reason, michi* (the other endings which change it to a noun, adjective, verb, etc.) is one of the taboo words on korean radio or television. i remember a rap group called DJDOC which had one song which couldn't be played because it had the word "michigesuh".

                    pabo == babo == stupid

                    have you heard the following?
                    mungchung-i
                    duhlmuhri

                            i honestly don't know. but: i've noticed it's almost taboo to mention anybody in the family being mentally ill...

                            it's prolly some deep seated cultural displeasure for any form of mental disruption.

                                as for silly, wack, or foolish, i dunno of any other word than pabo.

                                the only thing i can think of which kinda translates with silly in it is:
                                ookijimaruh == "don't be silly"
                                but that's almost invariably used in a sharp disagreement.
