US weaponry sales go together with other things.

It's not a clear choice of what's better or cheaper but also what comes with the most geostrategic and political plus.

Do you think Tawain would even think of getting russian weaponry?

it will buy american for the leverage against china too.

and so on and so forth.

both american and russian weaponry is high tech in some US exels in others Russia but the price/quality ratio is not the only defining factor in buying of weaponry, as stated.

the Greek proposition of beefing up the european defence industry as a way to detach the dependence in american military technology AND leverage is also a part of this. and was welcomed by most europeans, except some who have chosen not to emancipate themselves and prefer to get free defence (and dictations) from the US.

I haven't seen the video, the photos were enough.

Errors are one thing, exagerations are another, but

For instance, a taping from CNN showing white civilian cars with Iraqi militia inside, shooting at US forces, was cut, only to show the US forces firing back at the car and the car swaying to the side of the road, with the commentator explaining "Many civilians are hit, as US forces first open fire and only later ask questions".
Is a deliberate altering of facts to support a lie and prima facia evidence of ill intent.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Have you even seen the last few reports from the Iraqi Information Minister...

He's still claiming that there are no US troops in Baghdad...

Well... if you consider that more credible...

teh phoptos were not enough and were easily manipulated to give you what they wanted.

altering of truth is actually an everyday phenomenon for US media (capture of bagdat airport - where there was actually fierce fighting and the americans were pushed back - not that they wont come again, but just an example)

He's still claiming that there are no US troops in Baghdad...

Not only that, the US troops were about 200 meters away when he was holding the press conference.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I loved his comments how the US troops were commiting sucide at the gates of Baghdad...

But then again... paiktis22 finds him more credible than US media...

Heck, it sounds like paiktis22 believes the reports that Iraqi forces still hold Saddam International Airport...

                The "City Center" road signs?

The shots of the Iraqi's fleeing their destruction at the bend in the Tigris (right in the heart of Baghdad) ?

                Saddam's residential palace?

                Not particularly easy to fake.

So paiktis22... do you believe that Iraqi forces hold the airport still... and that there are no US forces in Baghdad... Because that's what your "credible" Iraqi news sources are reporting...

                        So, just to confirm paiktis...

are the Iraqi's in control of the airport?

are there coalition troops in central Baghdad?

also videos of burned american helicopters, LOTS of american tanks.... all burned up.

another interesting story is how the US bombs its own tanks after they're taken down by the iraqis as to make them unrecognisable.

but you also didnt know that - pressumably.

I already said american forces would return for the airport, and with the massive difference between the two armies will eventually capture it.

we're talking about US made up things though... such as the captured airport... where what actually happened was an attack by the US and a sucesful counteroffensive by the iraqis which pushed them back...

                              Answer the questions paiktis22...

Or are you afraid to admit that maybe Iraqi media sources aren't credible at all...
