  • Yeah... but you can see how different each team is when they are home and when they are away. It's like they become a different team.

              • Congrats Devils. They were the better team, never was a question about that.

Giguere deserved the Conn Smythe... can't believe he got booed.

Leave it to a Redwings fan to say something stupid

GIGURE DOES NOT DESERVE THE MVP AWARD

                  1. Brodeur set the record for playoff shutouts with 7
                  2. He shut the Ducks out 3 times
                  3. He shut out Game 7

Brodeur is the best goalie of the playoffs and should have gotten the Conn Smythe. This is absolute bullsh1t. I've heard the question before, "Who would you want starting in Game 7 of the Finals?" Probably the goalie that would SHUT OUT THE OTHER TEAM. Oh yeah, but let's give the MVP Playoff award to the goalie WHO LOST IN THE FINALS AND CRIED! What a crock!!

Sure Gigure is a good goalie. The SECOND BEST goalie.
To us, it is the BEAST.

                  • Sava, would the Ducks have made the finals if it weren't for Giguere?

****, they probably wouldn't have won a single game if it weren't for Giguere. Brodeur had a helluva lot more help.

Giguere was the Most Valuble Player of the playoffs, no question.

                    • Without Brodeur, New Jersey doesn't shut out 3 Finals games. Sorry... Gigure is Anaheim's MVP, but a loser doesn't deserve the Playoff MVP.

Why? Imagine if Detroit wins the Stanley Cup over, say, the Devils. And the Conn Smythe is announced and Brodeur wins it. You telling me that Red Wing fans ain't gonna boo? Come on!

                        I agree with Sava, though!

                          That's right!

the Conn Smyth award is supposed to go to the MVP of the playoffs... i.e... the BEST player in the playoffs.. i.e. the player that contributed MOST to his team's success. Brodeur's 7 shut outs, 3 in the Finals, and a shutout in Game 7 takes precedence over Gigure's little flash in the pan.

Yup, the Devils proved they were the best. The whole team came back with a solid game.

I couldn't believe it either when people started to Boo Giguere. The Jersey fans showed they have no class, unlike the players who applauded Giguere.

                            • Gigure is a bum and should have been booed... he's holding Brodeur's trophy. NJ fans have a right to be pissed. They watched their goalie shut Anaheim out 3 times in the Finals, including Game 7, only for the MVP trophy to go to the losing goalie.

How many times was Brodeur pulled during the playoffs? How many games did he make the difference? If Brodeur had not played, could the Devils have won?

The Devils shut-outs were a team effort.

Now compare that to Giguere. Without him, the Ducks would never have made it to the finals. He carried the team.
