  • Denmark's last stork

This week saw the arrival of a popular summer guest to the town of Ribe in Southern Jutland. The nest on the old Town Hall was occupied by a lone stork and the people there now anxiously await whether it will be joined by a mate.

In 2002, the nest in Ribe held the country's only stork couple, but unfortunately they had no offspring - for the first time in 500 years in Denmark. Hopefully they'll have better luck this year.

Follow the stork live on this Webcam site and keep your fingers crossed!

The webcam updates every 4 seconds for 2 minutes, after that refresh the page.

      Last stork.

We've got plenty of them passing through each winter, just call us next autumn.

This is just progress. Pay no attention to the environmentalists. What's more important!?! Storks or jobs!

We can re-build the marshes and have as many Storks as we wish. Jobs are useless, when everyone can just live off of welfare and love instead

You saying this, together with your avatar is great. You should've used ALLCAPS too.

Yes Azazel, the hard times for the stork is caused by the decline of available marshland. 50 years ago, there used to be storks on every other farmhouse rooftop.

And they didn't even have proper webcams back then.

Oops, maybe we lefties were right about the environment after all?

Yes, leftists are the ONLY ones who care for the environment.

Must be great being so full of oneself. Or maybe not.

Why not have a small conservation area for storks? what's the problem?

You can't put subdivisions on conservation areas, guh!
