  • Who's Next ?

Not anything to do with Classic Rock; rather a continuing effort to get people to look ahead.

Who next gets the attention of the "sleeping giants", now that they've been awakened ?
    BTW, don't be shocked, again.
"Terrorism, wherever it's found". Old news.

Who ever it is will have to wait a bit. We're a bit stretched right now.

If Iraq is your problem, then Iran definitely is.

It would be much more productive to work with the reform movement there that has already been making strides. Military action would be just make things worse.

Same with N. Korea. The regime is on the verge of collapse, a few nudges in the right places and it will all come down, much like East Germany. We just have to make sure that the South is ready for it, and let them to most of the talking.

At least that's the way I see things.

Reform shmeform. It's all bull****. Iran is keeping low profile in an attempt to get nukes without western interference and "reforms" is a part of that.

I've always held out hope for Iran. First, they are not part of the Arab League so they get avoid much of that bad influence. Second, they were once somewhat westernized so they've proven they can change. Third, with Iraq gone and the Soviets long gone, the have no more enemies on their borders.

Willem is right. The reform movement shows promise and is rumored to have the support (openly or not) of most of the population.

Depends if Bush wins the next election or not, or if he decides to make the senate appoint him president for life. Phillipnes do seem like a good bet though, it's a easy operation compared to this one as the US hardly has to deal that much with the international community or the UN for that one. I'd guess that Bush will try to stay away from that for a while.

If North Korea crosses the "red line" and starts producing nukes this summer, their plant will be destroyed. The US will then pause and warn them that any response will be met with an overwhelming US response. In meantime, US is pressuring China to corrall the N.Koreans under the threat of nukes in Japan. The Pentagon and Cheney bot feel strongly that N. Korea has to be dealt with now even of that involves a military conflict.

I think Iran is not going to do much on the nuke front with 200,000 US troops occupying Iraq for the next two years. The US will in no circumstances allow the current Iranian regime to develop nuclear weapons.

No. He is a man that made a decision to do everything to get nuclear weapons, and showing the west how enlighted he supposedly is is part of the plan.
