Even if Hussein is really dead or unavailable, there's still his sons and the second in command guy. Besides, I strongly doubt that he can be dispatched that easily.

You don't think that bombs can kill him?

No. he's like a main villain in arcades. You have to shoot thousands of RPGs at him so he'd die.

It's sad you guys haven't figured out why terrorists have not struck the U.S.

Am I the only one who understands these things?

Wait until we get a democratic president, and the attacks will continue.

You guys have not been paying attention, among the first areas seized in Iraq by the coalition were the the WESTERN areas nearest Israel all the iraqi airbases (and more of the launch areas against Israel) there are already captured.

If Saddam were temporarily incapacited, who would be willing to assume command, knowing that he might come back, and in bad temper.

I am sick of this game the Wh keeps playing about Saddam's fate: unless they know he is somehow incapacitated or dead, they should work under the assumption he is just fine, and move on with it.

As for the SCUD issue: I agree with Kontiki. Saddam's best possible strategy is to use nothing banned, so that the impression grows that he was telling the truth but the US and UK had other plans...

Lefty: actually, the Scuds are on erector launchers. he doesn't need no "launch sites"
