I wonder what the protestors want,
do they really want that the war is being stopped so Sadam can stay there?
I want the war stopped before the US/UK can do more damage. I don't trust Shrub with handling its aftermath in the interests of the liberty of the Iraqi people and others in the region.

If you don't even know what the anti-war protestors want, you can find out easily. Hell, there are enough threads here where a number of anti-war people have been making posts.

yes but now it has started, what should we do? just pull our troops out and pretend nothing has happened?
That isn't a realistic goal. I keep saying it all along. Anti-war people have no realistic view of the world. Not everyone thinks like us westerners. If they did, war would not be necessary.
I just stated what he should do. If you're asking me what I expect he'll do, I don't expect Shrub to pull out.
What I hope will happen due to the protests is that he will be pressured to act a little bit more responsibly at the post-war settlement, and he will think twice before continuing his agression.

Yes, just as Confucius certainly isn't American.
And Imran, Voltaire would find himself right at home in Pierre (prounounced "Peere"), Belle Fourche ("Bell Fush"), or Flandreau ("Flandru").

Funny Dissident but we have the same problem here in Mexico (especially in Mexico City)
Whenever there is a protest or march, and this happens rather frequently, hundreds of people march from some rural municipalty all the way to Mexico City, they march through the largest and busiest streets, notably Reforma which is like our Park Avenue, shutting down all traffic in the process and causing chaos in a 20 million people city which is already in gridlock.
While I have no problem with these people protesting injustice (which they are surely right in doing) doesn't that invade my own liberty as a commuter? Must I, and millions more suffer just because these people are pissed off at something?
THe problem is the government is so afraid that if they "control" these protests, they will be acussed of authoritarianism, of violating human rights, etc. What about my human rights when a freeway is shut down?
No fair.
Dissident, I feel your pain.

amen to that. is it so simple for war supporters to understand that people who are not supporting this agression actually have no sympathies for saddam?
