  • oh, and i guess being gassed before 1991 makes you eligible for defense by ignorant people.

    • or should i say that gassing people before 1991 makes you eligible for defense by cretins.

it's so funny how people can defend a murderer/rapist/dictator/chemical destroyer...

yet, bash the lone few countries that are trying to hold that same ******* accountable to the UN resolutions that he held up his middle finger to for 12 years... And trying to destroy a terrorist. And free a people.

      Heads need to be checked...

or at least hatreds need to be honestly expressed...instead of idiots preaching obviously ignorant anti-war stances without honestly asserting their own hatred for the US as being the sole reason for said stances.

      duplicitous bastards!

        • While I don't know if Saddam himself is a rapist (althought it wouldn't surprise me), I do know that Iraqi authorities like to rape women with broken bottles as a means of torture. Horrible...

We're not exactly buying into the propaganda either. I've heard a number of journalists jeering at the "embedded" American people that are with the troops. They've been called cheerleaders by our people, and don't agree with the way it's being handled. They're questioning their objectivity.

And who supplied him with the equipment and resources to make them? The US.

No but we shouldn't think of him as a major threat because he has a few chemical shells and maybe a few missiles. After all he knows he could never use them against his neighbours since retaliation would be swift and complete. The only way he could manage it is if he had an extremely strong army to defend himself against retaliation. To suggest this is true since GW1 is ridiculous.

The iraqi military is diminished, yes. the iraqi army was always diminished except for the special rep. guard.

his regular army has always been starving and hating him.
Are you seriously suggesting that Saddam could threaten his neighbours with his shambolic half wrecked army and a handful of WMDs that he may or may not have?

Get real. He's no threat and isn't likely to become one unless there is some miracle.

You are a very biased person. Or at least someone that hates the us so much that you ignore everything presented.
I'm not ignoring what you've presented - I'm laughing at it.

Perhaps you would care to debate khadir hamzaa?
You could at least spell his name correctly. Without a large and well equipped army to back them up even nuclear weapons would be useless to SH since retaliation would be swift and complete. Nuclear weapons are basically defensive in nature anyway, since you couldn't use them without bringing down destruction on your own head.

This is a blantant lie. I dont know who started this, the left throws this around like it means something. In the 1980's we gave Iraq about 60 million dollars (chump change compared to the 90 billion the USSR gave Iraq!) in aid but never was there any weapons transfers between US and Iraqi governments....ever

Now compare that to the military equipment bought from France, USSR, and Germany.....

                    hmmm..

                    Who gave the Iraqi's Mirage F-1's, MiG-29's and T-72's?
Who gave them Chem and Bio weapons?

                    I win!

Of ccourse no one trusted him, why do you think the inspectors were sent in? You "ugly Americans" seem to think that just because someone opposes the war that they love Saddam. Most people hate him and will be very happy to see him gone. It's just how it's being done that's bothering people.

                      • Oh ya. France supplied Saddam with that Nuclear Reactor, in fact, Chirac had something to do with it.

And the USSR giving him the infrastructure for Chemical and Bio weapons....

I'm prepared to wait and see since, as a previous poster mentioned, it seems odd for Iraq to use their best long-range missiles for short range nuisance attacks.

The pictures I've seen so far are too small to be SCUDS.
A missile was shot down in Kuwait a few hours ago and landed intact. Some reporter were taken to the site and saw the missile and showed the picture on CNN. The Kuwaiti said it was a Scud. I have model of a scud and the writing in the video was the same as on my model.

You're probably right, though I wish it could have been done under the UN banner. The world's leaders have let the rest of us down. But then what else is new? Let's just hope they can finally start working together when it's over and minimize the damage of the aftermath. I have a feeling it's about to get ugly in that area. I hope I'm just being paranoid!
