AP is reporting Saddam may be "incommunicado"

Washington-AP -- It's too soon to say whether Saddam Hussein and his sons got caught up in the U-S missile attack.

But sources say U-S intelligence has picked up early signs that the Iraqi leadership might be incapacitated or unable to communicate with military field commanders.

Early intelligence reports suggest Iraq's leadership is not organizing any coordinated response to the U-S attack. That suggests leadership is in chaos or cut off from the military,

One official says military officials "believe it is significant" that there is a lack of coordination and meaningful resistance to the pre-dawn missile strike.

Sources say intelligence suspects Saddam's sons may have been with him during the strike on a complex where Iraqi leaders may have been sleeping.

Emol.com : The Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ( ) critices the American attack over Iraq and ask for "peace in the world" ... I'm not kidding he really said that.

Who's embassies? Iraq's? US'? Your countrymen's? You only give the locations (a formidable list though).

I heard that the Vatikan and Norway are the only ones who have the guts to keep their embassies in Bagdad open.

These news are a couple of days old. Sweden expelled 2 Iraqi diplomats just after the request. They had it coming anyway, US request or not. Our secret police had been tracking them for a while and found out they were spying on regime opposission among Iraqi refugees in Sweden.

U.S. Opening Operations Test Iraqi Reaction

Upon such information, the U.S. drew up its initial plans to hit a specific number of strategic places for 48 hours. And if the Iraqi public did not respond to the attack, then the U.S. would begin its all-inclusive operations,” said the sources, speaking on condition of anonymity.
