I hope the casualties -BOTH on the Iraq and U.S. sides- are as low as possible....still, I think that the civilians deserve and need much more support and protection just right now....So get it over with asap....

I just heard that he's announced a TV appearance to the Iraqi people soon. So I doubt it. I'm wondering whether they can trace the broadcast signal, and guide a bomb to the TV station while he's on air. Willem, the most likely possibility is that Saddam taped his announcement, as did Osama Bin Laden. He's not a fool to broadcast. Apparently, he even gives order via tape.

A Tommy is a British soldier.
It seems to come from a sample form provided to British soldiers in the early 19th century. The name Tommy Atkins was filled in on the form. It seems that it occurs earlier than that though.
