liberals just call everyone a racist. That's their whole argument.

I'm not a conservative mind you. I found conservatives using the same argument as liberals when they were defending whatshisname Bush is trying to get onto the supreme court. They called the liberals racist . when will it end.

And Sava, I agree. For once

        1. I'm not a liberal.
        2. I called Cali a racist, not anyone else. Because I know he is.

As for everyone who'd so quickly steal these peoples' liberties from them, why aren't you willing to give up your own liberties? Those evil terroristic Moslems won't get you if you're in a prison, closely guarded by the government. Hell, why shouldn't the government lock up everyone? We'd sure be safe then.

          That's their whole argument
No one has given me a counterargument. All y'all have been saying is that Moslems are terrorists so they should be locked up. Sorry, but the only response that bigotted garbage warrants is instant dismissal.

I don't suppose anyone has heard of due process.

Actually they have. This doesn't violate it. It detains immigrants for the duration of the processing time, which isn't that long at all for assylum seekers.

The Eldridge test would probably favor the government on this issue.

Operation Liberty Shield would authorize the detention of asylum seekers from these unnamed countries for the duration of the asylum procedure. "The asylum process usually takes months, sometimes years," said Bill Frelick, Director of AIUSA's Refugee Program. "As a result, traumatized people seeking our protection who have never committed a crime could find themselves in prisons and jails for months and months simply because they asked our country for asylum from persecution."
This is draconian. Months to years till being released or deported/charged with a crime is certainly not speedy.

They are asylum seekers. Should they just be allowed to roam in the country before we decide if they should be here?

Yes (even if I didn't believe in no immigration barriers).

They certainly shouldn't be subjected to months of detention.

Nobody has said that Muslims are terrorists. What we have said is that Muslims in the US are more likely to be terrorists. This is an undeniable fact, so either you're just pretending, or you really don't understand.

Irrelevent semantics, the thought process is clearly there. The only way the logic makes the least bit of sense is if you believe being a Moslem asylum seeker makes you likely to be a terrorist. Which is certainly not the case.

The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of asylum seekers, Moslem or not, are by no means terrorists, and you and other authoritarians want to deny them liberty.

Bull****. Apparently you missed the part where every perpetrator of the 9/11 attacks was here legally?

Name one arrested member of al Qaeda, or one identified suspect wanted by law enforcement, who gained entry to the US as an asylum applicant.

For operational reasons, that's the last way they'd try to gain entry into the US - asylum seekers have to give a lot of detail about their background (claims of persecution, etc.) with corroborating evidence, and their visa processing is the slowest of any group of resident or non-resident immigrants. (hint, rich asylum seekers don't apply for asylum, because it's easier to get in with any other visa category.

Even when you go through the process, the vast majority of asylum seekers are denied entry, unless they can come up with some other basis for legal entry. It's truly the last hope of the desperate, who can't get a visa any other way.
