As for everyone who'd so quickly steal these peoples' liberties from them, why aren't you willing to give up your own liberties? Actually they have. This doesn't violate it. It detains immigrants for the duration of the processing time, which isn't that long at all for assylum seekers.

For operational reasons, that's the last way they'd try to gain entry into the US - asylum seekers have to give a lot of detail about their background (claims of persecution, etc.) with corroborating evidence, and their visa processing is the slowest of any group of resident or non-resident immigrants. (hint, rich asylum seekers don't apply for asylum, because it's easier to get in with any other visa category.
Even when you go through the process, the vast majority of asylum seekers are denied entry, unless they can come up with some other basis for legal entry.
