How long will it take to repair the damge to America done by the Bush regime
“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)

I'm torn between feeling sorry for you or laughing my ass off.
One of Ned's more notable comments on other countries:
Actually, Spiffor, if I had a choice, I would declare war on France, Germany , Austria and Belgium. Never have I had such anger for other countries as I do for these countries. Saddam is a small menance compared to Chirac and crew.
Davout, for one, Americans are boycotting French products. I hope Bush kicks France out of NATO. I also hope we can figure out how to get them off the SC as a permanent member. Perhaps an ultimatum.
Next we look to rescinding MFN status.
You confirm that I was rightly compassionnate.
- Americans boycotting French products would hurt themserves as much as us. And regarding Grands Bordeaux, we are in short supply anyway.
- NATO is no longer adapted to the prevailing situation, so we would not be disturbed significantly.
- Permanent membership is not decided by you, particularly not by members of the UN late payers, and anyway it is not a big threat since you want to destroy the UN.
- If MNF means Most Favored Nation, you cannot, unless you deprive the EU as well (you know, we are a founding member of the EU).
- The ultimatum could be interesting, but on which subject ?
If it is what you call a huge payback, we can afford.
I hope that some day you will think seriously about foreign relations. Long term considerations are more important that feelings : love and hatred are irrelevant.
Statistical anomaly.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

If it weren't so stupid, I'd boycott the product of your poodles here too. My family alone buys €10-15,000 a year worth of Spanish, Italian and British stuff. May be we should consider it?

Oh please, and don't forget Germany. And withdraw already your GIs and planes. Ramstein is ways too loud.

Want an economic war? Well, we have tariffs too, you know...
Why does Ned attach so much importance to Austria? Because of little ol'me ?

Our government was quite silent on this, and its position is somewhere between France and Britain, though closer to (save our souls) France.
And what "reasoning"?

Please Sir Ralph don't boycott Italian products
The overwelming majority of people here is strongly against the war...even many right-wingers...

I won't do it, I'm not that stupid. I know, that most Italians are against the war. And as I heard, Italian port workers also refused to load an American warship not long ago . The GIs had to do it themselves.
