You might rather think about why overwhelming sympathy and support after 9/11 turned into the exact opposite within 18 months. But of course, for you it can only be the evil, jealous restoftheworldians. It has of course nothing to do with your glorious America and its Supreme Leader.
“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)

    • I have to go to work now so I will think about it while I am gone. So long for now... By the way, I have written a book about America and it's false glory. I am the first to criticize this nation and it's hypocrisy. I just think that the hatred and envy of the world toward us is way beyond reason. It seems like an obsession of sorts with some. Let us go to hell. We will do it without your help. We will have no one to blame when we fall but ourselves.

      • Noone thinks Saddam is a good guy. Many people think Bush is far more dangerous than that fool in Baghdad.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Hmm... then why the support for this war? Or are you against it?

"I just think that the hatred and envy of the world toward us is way beyond reason."

Well maybe for most people this is not about hatred and envy? The US simply has a, shall we say, very active foreign policy. It is inevitable that people affected by this policy discuss it, even if we in the west get mostly the very indirect effects.

Oddly enough, the rightwing extremists are a bigger danger to America than for Europe or other western countries. Yet they face close to no opposition in the US, a total failure of the public debate (from the media to the political system).

Settling scores with Iraq - mainly to show America is "strong" - has been a long term goal of theirs - again see Wolfowitz articles. See also the open letter Wolfowitz, Perle amd Rumsfeld signed even before Bush came to office.
AH, I couldn't find the Wolfowitz article you referenced, but I did find this on the web referencing it and providing a quote. The point of the quote is nuanced quite a bit differently that your nuance.

Saddam's fall was planned in 1998
In this liberal climate there came, nearly unnoticed, a 1997 proposal of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) that forcefully mapped out "America's global leadership". On 28 Jan 1998 the PNAC project team wrote to President Clinton demanding a radical change in dealings with the UN and the end of Saddam.
While it was not clear whether Saddam was developing WMD, he was, they said, a threat to the US, Israel, the Arab States and "a meaningful part of the world's oil reserves".
They put their case as follows:
"In the short term this means being ready to lead military action, without regard for diplomacy. In the long term it means disarming Saddam and his regime. We believe that the US has the right under existing Security Council resolutions to take the necessary steps, including war, to secure our vital interests in the Gulf. In no circumstances should America's politics be crippled by the misguided insistence of the Security Council on unanimity."

The only thing I feel in my heart for France and Germany and for that matter Austria is real hatred.

I hope that Bush is not soft and tries to make up after the war is over. I hope there is major payback.

What would certainly make you some good would be to express the kind of major payback you have in mind.
                          Statistical anomaly.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Davout, for one, Americans are boycotting French products. I hope Bush kicks France out of NATO. I also hope we can figure out how to get them off the SC as a permanent member. Perhaps an ultimatum.

Next we look to rescinding MFN status.
