  • Greatest Pink Floyd Album

My personal favorite is the Final Cut. I know, I know, most Floyd fans hate it, but it's so bitter I just can't resist. It's really a Waters album anyway.

This is followed closely by Ummagumma, Wish You Were Here, and Meddle.

I cannot stand the Post-Waters Floyd.

Dark Side Of The Moon for me. It opened up alot of musical and personal avenues for me.

I liked Meddle, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets and Wish You Were Here best at one time or another. I used to like Dark Side of the Moon, but I heard too much of it during the 70s, 80s, 90s. Ditto The Wall.

I quite like some of their early singles, pre-Piper. Extremely technically deficient, full of stupid rock ideas and youthful confidence in the best Art School In-Crowd Darlings tradition. Sort of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs of their time really.

Everything else is pure cack. Roger Waters is the most evil man in musical history.

Actually, you probably saw my 2nd answer.
The first one I was thinking Led Zepplin, which yielded my 2nd response.

At least in Sweden they're universally hated by critics, to the extent that I've read several columns dedicated solely to thrashing them. And good riddance too.

Dark Side, that was when I hit high school. But Wish you were here is a close second. It's a bit unfair to include live/compilation albums in the poll, oh well. Btw, the new Roger Waters DVD, "In the Flesh" is GREAT! I never tire of watching it...

they were good..... meddle and DSOTM were great albums, WYWH, animals and the wall to a lesser extent

but they wouldn't make my top 20 bands of all time list...

Amen to that. What an astoundingly boring band. Their music sounds like an air purifier.

Excuse me? Uhhhh why? I can think of evil people in music history, and Roger Waters does not appear in my mental list...

I voted for wish you were here - really really cool music.

You mean there are Pink Floyd albums other than the Wall? You woldn't know it from listening to the radio around here.

BTW, I voted for Dark Side of the Moon.

The Wall... probably because of the film, which I loved, too.
