I watch Law and Order CI frequently, it's quite good. I find plain vanilla Law and Order to be kinda boring though.

IMO, the best episodes were when Benjamin Bratt was still Lenny's partner and Carey Lowel was the ADA. Jill Henessey was pretty good too. The new female ADA is getting better, but for the first while she may have been one of the worst actresses ever put on TV. The way she chewed through her lines and was board stiff was terrible.

The new black detective is good, but I never much cared for Paul Sorvino, and thought Chris Noth was so so.

Steven Hill was a good character, but too much of his dialogue was just disgrunteled, pessimistic one liners. I can't count how many times he said things to the effect of "You can't win it, cut a deal", "We don't want to prosecute that" or "Find some evidence and make it work, otherwise cut a deal". I think the new DA has much better potential, but his apperances are somewhat limited.

Law and Order kicks ass. I've never cared much for SVU, but the original series is great, and CI is pretty good.

But the legal team is currently crap (except for McCoy). The first DA was really good, and I liked the brunnette and the hispanic AADA's (what are their positions really called?) much better than the current blond.

                Hispanic ADA? When was that?

Not ADA. The assistant to the ADA. She has her own series now. She was on the series right before the current one.

I was under the impression that both of the main lawyers were ADAs.

Could be. But one is always superior to the other, right?

I like all three series- they're shown in prime time in Australia on Channel Ten. D'Onofrio can be a scenery chewer at times, and it does seem a pity to have an actor such as Kathryn Erbe standing around acting like a gopher when she is perfectly capable of bringing much more to the role (remember her murderer in 'Oz'?).

I would happily watch Richard Belzer read the Yellow Pages- I love the character's sardonic humour (his appearances in 'Homicide' were a treat) and I would just happily watch Christopher Meloni. He wouldn't have to do anything specific, I would just watch him...

I have enjoyed Sam Waterston's acting ever since the days of 'Oppenheimer'- he always seems to me to represent what's best about a certain urbane, low key very American style of acting- not giving to arm chopping or showboating. I like the Van Buren woman police chief (the actor's name escapes me- my bad) and Lennie Briscoe should have his own series as a gumshoe- he looks as though his face has been slept in by the sorrows of the world.

There was never a hispanic ADA. There was a hispanic detective, Bejamin Bratts character, but the junior ADA's were Richard Brooks ( the only male), Jill Hennesy, Carey Lowell, Angie Harmon, and Elizabeth Rohm, in that order.

It is inetresting no one has mentioned the Lieutenants. While I like Dan Floerk (the Lieutenant on SUV), I liek the Anita character more in the old L&O.

I like the newest cast on L&O (I didn't watch it much before, though...that may be why). I also really like CI...I dunno, the main guy just seems to really interest me. As for SVU, I never really got into it, and now I can never, as I only have basic cable and work whenever it's on (friday night on CTV, I believe).

There are actually only four-five shows I watch regularly: L&O, CI, CSI, CSI:M (bad acting, but good show nontheless), and Boomtown, which I hear is supposed to be coming back. Out of those, it is especially CSI that I love.
