Mishal Husain of the BBC World Report is one of the best things to happen to news since the advent of the television.

I sometimes watch FOX news, it gives me a little chuckle once in a while.

Every private news agency does this... ABCNews isn't even the worst. Every single news source listed in the poll is driven by the need to sell commericial time. Very rarely are things reported objectively and accurately.

Mostly from newspapers. Secondary from TV, but I switch around station to station since they all SUCK. And then when I'm good and ready, I come here and get the truth.
I mean really, why should I watch it on TV and get one bias when I can come here and experience ALL the different biases. The truth is always buried in the middle somewhere.

While humor was intended, I was partially serious.

Since coming here, I have aquired a much more international outlook on news thanks to all you stinking forners that I attempt to troll and abuse.
REALLY, in the paper I might get a couple of paragraphs covering the so called "facts". I come here and get instant 3 pages of different slants to those "facts" and references to get additional information. It gives me a more in depth feel on the issues. I am more aware of US flaws and shortcomings. (and those of other countries also, before you all start a feeding frenzy )

The french bashing is one great example. In the CHICAGO TRIBUNE (a reasonable conservative newspaper) I have seen at least 7 political cartoons (out of the last 15) in the editorial page where the punch line relates to how easy the French surrender.
I laughed at all of them and didn't give them another thought, not realizing the propaganda impact. Reading the threads here has put a SPOTLIGHT on the issue and made me question beyond just that I found them funny. (and some of them were really really funny)

So while most of what you morons post is garbage,
it's appreciated and helped my understanding of the more complex issues.

                      Thanks all

I already knew that, so you don't have to be a jackass about it.

edit - OK, I was the one being a jackass about it.

i dislike fox's telly broadcasts. the soundbite thing bothers me, along with the large and explosive graphics.

and i agree, kontiki: mishal husain and (i think it was) geeta guru-murthy on a good day are all one needs to see news.
