Most of the soldiers at this base (it's a DoD-wide training command, so all 4 services, plus Coast Guard and the occasionaly foreigner) I've met are bright and always willing to learn.

The Airman are damn smart too.

Even the "Uh-rah!" Marines know their stuff inside out. The American Military, ALL aspects of it, is so high-tech we can't have idiots join. Or people with "bad attitudes".

But your argument, in case it´s true, is removing their only defence in case they ever get tried...

If the Afghans accepted them as part of their army, and they were recognizable as soldiers, there was absolutely nothing unlawful about them.

I was here, and said exactly the same thing.

If I were to do that in ANY OTHER THREAD, I would get flamed heavily for it. People would get annoyed. They would get the urge to torch the Russian flag. Some may even go so far as to hate Russia and the Russian people for it. Because I'm not just being patriotic: I'm being arrogent.

Arrogence makes people angry. Angry people tend to want to destroy what makes them angry. Hence patriotism, in overdosage, is really not healthy for anyone.

Americans tend to do it a lot because ignorant people tend to become arrogent. I've had more than enough people try to tell me America is "Number 1" and that "You dont even have a country left! Were the best nation that ANYONE HAS EVER SEEN!". That annoys me. That annoys others.
