My dear viking decended friend. First off you shouldn't believe everything you read about the American educational system. For instance did you know there is no "American" educational system? There are seporate systems in every state and some states, such as California, push the decisions even lower to the county level. Thus you end up with a very decentralized educational system with pockets of excellence and pockets of poor perfomance.

Add on top of that the high number of immigraints in certain districts who have difficulty with English (hard to pass a test when it is in English and you don't speak English) and that certain minority groups have historically been taught not to excel in school (blacks were taught in the south that they were going to be laborers so why bother going to alot of school?) and you start to get a clear picture.

The result are uneven so that white kids in California tend to score very highly while districts in the rural south tend to do poorly as do "inner city" areas with large numbers immigraints and minorities. In short your average native born white gets an excellent education while alot of other groups get short changed but no one knows how to fix the system without offending the states.

Not to defend this poll, but I think it was because they are traditionally neutral nations.
          Unbelievable!

I think when anybody mentions to them their unfortunate choice of sides in that war, they only answer one word: 'Merde'.

True, but there are a few good ways to invite it...

flat out, ignore all the sh1t being thrown around. the bottom line in my eyes is that saddam has said if he had the means, he would use WoMD on American civlians. he's said it several times. even if he doesnt have them, if he DID have them he would use them.
In retaliation, if attacked. George Dubblya obviously doesn't have such qualms. In fact, weapons of mass destruction have only ever been used by one nation on another nation once...

why would be leave such an egotistical sh1thead in power?
Good question, specially since he didn't win an election in the first place.

Oops, sorry, now I understand, you meant Saddam...

... why do i know that last statement will bring about the anti-bush crowd ...

By the way, I haven't answered the poll, because it is ambiguous; necessary for what?

The French couldn't give a rat's ass for US independance. Sure, they commited forces, but they did that to hurt the English, not help us. The US and France won, BOTH countries won what they went to war for.

The French are totally self interested.

That´s what I am saying. They should have hurt you, and helped the English.

That was not in their interests.

                            With hindsight, it was.

Not necessarily, because for decades they would have dealt with an immeasurably greater British Empire.
