          In language ^ is a circumflex! We have them in Welsh. In many languages they go over vowels and vowel-type sounds (i.e. w or y) to change the pronounciation.

          In modern mathematics it can be used as 'to the power of'.

            Or used to indicate unit vectors in physics. Maybe also used for vectors in general, can't remember.
