Positive or not hje is democratically elected and we can democratically unelect him. There is also the part about our Army being all volenteer so, theoretically, only those who wish to take part are taking part. It's Saddam who's conscipting boys so he can continue to produce WoMD. It's Saddam who's putting the human shields on military targets just so they'll be killed and he can run propoganda and it is Saddam who is provoking this conflict by continously trying to avoid proforming his treaty requirements.

Face it he's to blame for all this and are only choice is to be appeasers who let it slide or to actually try to inforce UNSC resolutions.

Actually, Bush could conscript all able males, as they refused to sign a UN resolution banning this.

I'm more concerned with a Sarin cloud rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue past my apartment or someone detonating a dirty bomb while I'm working on Capitol Hill. I highly doubt someone is going to crash into anything in DC.

Speaking of which, I think I need to pick up my plastic sheeting and and duct tape tomorrow....
If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

          Can a normal sam-missile stop a 747? I'd think it'd just keep coming...

What's that about UN resolution banning drafting? I wonder if Finland signed that...

A thought crossed my mind, are women still "banned " from serving in the "front" (where-ever that is) in US military?

I think the democratic election bit is sufficiently in doubt - it's at least unclear. In any case, this isn't what you said earlier - just that the world would be a better place without Saddam. And you know, there are enough Iraqis to overthrow him if they really wanted to, so it's their responsibility, not ours. Unless, of course, you are again making the "world a better place" argument, in which I refer you to the same argument about Dubya.

It's Saddam who's conscipting boys so he can continue to produce WoMD.
a)What does conscription have to do with WoMD?
b)Are you admitting that conscription is wrong?

It's Saddam who's putting the human shields on military targets just so they'll be killed
They won't be killed unless the US attacks, duh

Face it he's to blame for all this and are only choice is to be appeasers who let it slide or to actually try to inforce UNSC resolutions.
The only reason the US cares about the UNSC in this case is that they happen to agree with us.

            Frozzy,

Actually, Bush could conscript all able males,
No he couldn't. Not only is it unconstitutional, but he would be facing major riots and probably a great deal of violence inside the US. Needless to say he'd lose re-election, and if he did it after winning the election he'd be "unelected" in a different way, quite possibly.

And yes, SCOTUS has indeed ruled that conscription is Constitutional. However, if you look at the decision, handed down during WW1, you will see that the parts relevant to conscription make no relevant legal arguments and is really just a bunch of patriotic, nationalistic pap that should be ripe for review.

conscription is a neccesary evil, just like suspending habeus corpus or declaring Bush president for life

                    1. Due process was followed and Legally BUSH was declared the winner in Florida. Therefore, the election is NOT in doubt whatsoever.

                    2. The Media panel tasked with investigating the Florida election, reported that Gore could NOT have won Florida.

If this is UNCLEAR to you, then that's your problem,
