The single most important event to occur in the world since Apolyton was thought up, and we can't post a new thread about it. That's bizzarre.

I liked the SNL skit on the UN meeting better. It was more inventive.

They have links to skits? Where would I look for that? I only saw it because they replayed it at the end of a fox news show.

The French were born into this world to surrender.

Sure, you can disagree with them all you want, but hey guess what, they're doing this because they disagree with you!

Perhaps this whole veto thing is taking it a little too far, but hey, if you see it as a way to send a strong message of disconsent - or even an all-out gesture of plain defiance, then I'd say it's nothing short of brilliant. I mean, this really got your attention, didn't it?

Also, do keep in mind that although the NATO partners under the North Atlantic Treaty do have an obligation to assist each other in defense, they do NOT have any obligation to participate in an attack on a third party.

The French argument is that Turkey is under no immediate threat of attack at this time and that they don't want to jump the gun just yet because they believe there is still a chance to sort this out peacefully.

Now, of course you can disagree with this assessment, but the French seem to believe that there is a better way to handle this and they have the guts to stand up and say so to your face. That hardly counts as surrendering in my book.
Are you kidding? If we even mentioned invading Normandy again they would throw the white flag so quick its not funny.

You are quite possibly right, but I don't see what that's got to do with what I was talking about.

At one point I was thinking of going to some site and finding pictures and quotes to post about the defense of Verdun and the incredible and highly heroic acts of bravery that the French army conducted there. Then I though, why waste time on such an excreable thread. Such an honet post would only be sullied next to the crap posted here, not just by HolyWarrior.

                      Guardian,

I thought you were saying how brave the French were for not supporting us. I was just being stupid. Little bit agree. I don't angry with how they are handling this. It's fine with me that they oppose the war and don't want to support the US. I just don't agree with them trying to unite other nations to oppose us. The're suppose to be our allies, and I think that's wrong.

                      Lack of support-ok
Creating opposition with other nations- not ok

I am sort of thankful to France that she assumed the role of the principal lightning rod in this case. Otherwise all the darts might be on Russia.
