There are about 270 million people in this country, and only 650,000 of them fly airplanes. That’s about 2.4% of the population

Actually, it seems to me that the French are amongst the ones who are not surrendering in this case - as opposed to all the governments who are just waiting in line to jump on Uncle Sam's command.

Sure, you can disagree with them all you want, but hey guess what, they're doing this because they disagree with you!

Perhaps this whole veto thing is taking it a little too far, but hey, if you see it as a way to send a strong message of disconsent - or even an all-out gesture of plain defiance, then I'd say it's nothing short of brilliant. I mean, this really got your attention, didn't it?

Also, do keep in mind that although the NATO partners under the North Atlantic Treaty do have an obligation to assist each other in defense, they do NOT have any obligation to participate in an attack on a third party.

The French argument is that Turkey is under no immediate threat of attack at this time and that they don't want to jump the gun just yet because they believe there is still a chance to sort this out peacefully.

Now, of course you can disagree with this assessment, but the French seem to believe that there is a better way to handle this and they have the guts to stand up and say so to your face. That hardly counts as surrendering in my book.

I 100% agree with Guardian, and luckily also Germany and Belgium are on the same line of the French.

Now if only that stupid and corrupted man of Berlusconi could stop licking Bush's as and listen to the 80% (67% of which even if the UN says to go to war) of Italians who are against the war... it would be better.

Yep! Ming is awake and LaRusso's thread mysteriously disappeared a few minutes ago.

After all, Ming has to do what Ming said he'd do. -And the fact that he does is part of the reason why we respect him.

(Also, posts like this one shouldn't be posted because it's irrelevant to the thread subject, so I guess Ming could bonk me in the head once or twice for this one... )
