Now, now. The Russian economy has grown so fast it has almost become the same size as say... Denmark.

      Few countries can.

Nope, but to most Europeans, you have culturally and intellectually, which are values held in much greater regard than power.

The day Europeans stop going to American films in large numbers is the day that I'll start to take these type of pronouncements seriously.

If Euros don't respect America then why does the majority want to dress like us, listen to our music, watch our movies, buy our food, and generally become just like us?

I don't believe this statement - it's as ridiculous as saying that Europe has no international power. Both are arguments used by extreme reactionaries on both sides.

Like Americans don't want European clothes, music, films and food?

uh?... I'm sorry, I went to the US and (at least comparing Italians to Americans) I didn't notice that many similarities in dressing, food is completely different, music we listen also to English, German, Franch, Italian, Spanish, etc.. and of course American music too, but not just that.

                Movies: look at music.

                ---------------

This is probably one of the thing for what I can be considered an "anti-American" because I really don't like the fact that many Americans believe that the others are desperatly trying to copy them and become like them

And Europeans would prbably respect America more if you used your brains and actually tried using diplomacy instead of war.
Europeans respect intelligent, rational decision making, which is why America has lost respect.

The sad thing is that this is actually true. Euros accuse America of unintelligent, irrational decision-making, but they always want America to take care of problems that European diplomacy-only policy can't solve. Who are the unintelligent ones here? I think Bosnia showed just how wrong the European view of international politics is...

This is an evil US plot to poison us Euros with hamburgers...

BTW, some wines from the US I tried are great, but the fast food can only count as bioweapon

Fast food restaurants are far from packed down here...

Here in Italy we enjoy eating a good quality, and slow meal rather than a crappy hamcheesebigfatsuperburger at McDonald

I concur with Giovanni. US cultural imperialism has run it's course. Just what is a corn dog? Does 'cookie dough' actually exist?

Yeah, we thought the US would actually honour arms embargoes.
