  • Anti-Americanism and Anti-Europeanism.

I founded this article somewhere on the net, and I founded it pretty interesting, especially considering that many of the things this article talks about can be easily find in this forum as well.

This year, especially if the United States goes to war against Iraq, you will doubtless see more articles in the American press on "Anti-Americanism in

    We aren't anti-Eurocom. Anti-French, maybe but not anti-european.

      Good article.

I think the major difference between anti-Americanism and anti-Europeanism is that Americans don't seem to have the virulent hate for Europe that many Euros have for America. Americans just pity Europe for what it has become...

BTW, EUnuch is my new favorite word.

It's a left right thing. Leftists in Europe attack the U.S. since it is the most visable symbol of the political right while American rightists attack Europe for being the most visable symbol of the left.

Most people don't give a **** except to make the odd joke.

Of course Americans aren't going to care about Europeans as much as Europeans do America.

Remembering, America is being far more active in its policies that Europe - should the EU invade Israel, for example, though, then I'm sure you'd find just as many Americans hating Europe.

And if you don't think the pity is mutual then you're obsenely ignorant.

For your sake, I hope you're not stupid enough to attack a nuclear power.

Would you like every country in the world to declare an EMBARGO?

Though after seeing how much the Israelis improved an American shuttle, I shutter to think....Missiles going the speed of light?!

If it weren't for Bush there wouldn't be any virulent hate here. Replace Bush with a more savvy and likeable character as President and we would be on much better terms.

Americans would probably respect Europe more if you guys got off your asses and actually backed up your whining. Americans respect action, not words, which is why Europe has lost respect.

How can a European pity America? We haven't dropped off the face of the earth, influence-wise...

in either case, we wouldn't be able to sink lower than the Russian Federation.

And Europeans would prbably respect America more if you used your brains and actually tried using diplomacy instead of war.
Europeans respect intelligent, rational decision making, which is why America has lost respect.

Nope, but to most Europeans, you have culturally and intellectually, which are values held in much greater regard than power.

The Russian economy is beginning to go up and fix the damage done by Yeltsin. Do not worry
