  • Palestinian extremists party today.

Keep this stuff out of the Columbia thread and vent your anger in this thread please.

As for me -- I try to direct my anger towards Palestinian extremists, and try to not have a prejudice or hatred towards all Palestinians, even though I sympathize with Israel.

The Palestinian extremists who are celebrating today make me sick.

When US invaded Afghanistan to kill lots of innocent people, we could see on tv how some Americans were celebrating that you got your revenge for 9/11. Nothing wrong about that, right?

Let's face it, many people are just *ssholes and take pleasure in others suffering

Combat -- the behavior of those Americans was wrong too. Of course it goes both ways.

Soldiers should definitely celebrate combat victories -- but not celebrate how many guys they killed.

Jumpin' jiminy, there's no proof of anyone celebrating this. Could everyone stop waving their ****** around for a few minutes?

            Eli said it first.
When I commented that I couldn't find anything about it on any of the web's newssites, someone else (don't remember who ) said he could see the celebrations from near his house.

Eli lives next to Gaza and he claims to have seen people celibrating. We can either believe him or not believe him but I have never known him to lie before.

                I agree with you, MrFun.
Anyone who celebrate the death of innocents, regardless of their nationality or religion, have serious issues.

Source? Maybe some Americans celebrated military victories, which is OK, but these men on Columbia were just doing scientific experiments.More idiotic Eurocrap trying to draw moral equivalency.

Thank you for giving me the insight that my dislike for celebrating war and death is "idiotic Eurocrap". Sadly, I don't think I will improve my "idiotic" behaviour...

The war in Afghanistan had the specific purpose of seeking out the al Queda terroists and overthrowing the Taliban. Victories in that effort could be celebrated. But I do not know a single person who celebrated the death of any innocent bystander. Yes, I saw a few on TV who seemed glad that some died, but in a nation of 270 million (or whatever number we are up to now), there are going to be a few bigots or just plain sociopaths.

There is a big difference between a few idiots celebrating and masses of a whole population in the streets dancing and cheering. I remember the scenes from the first Gulf War where a bicyclist was crossing a bridge as a "smart bomb" closed in. When he was seen unharmed, Americans cheered for the bicyclist! I think that says enough to show the difference...

Well, of course celebrating such a thing is making no sense and -loony.
But it's the question how many really celebrated. I've heard that those pictures showing "thousands of Palestinians" celebrating 9/11 out on the street was very exaggerated and the images shown were always the same bunch of people.
But even if they were many, what does this tell us? It would tell us that there is a lot of people with a capacity to differentiate that is close to zero. Well, we can be racists, say they're scum and dumb monsters and say: "F*ck them."
But if we're not racists, this should scare us and tell us something. It's time to help things to IMPROVE in Palestine (education, social problems, infrastructure), not destroy the last bit over there. What makes many people over there so fanatic is their extreme poverty, ongoing fear of attacks (fear is probably the most important factor, counts for all sides) and due to no access to education many obviously lack the ability to make a difference. Easy victims for extremists offering a "solution" and presenting someone who's responsible for everything.
Only bombing and attacking and destroying Palestinian infrastructure won't make them more insightful less dangerous or even giving up. It's an illusion!
